Alan Roberts principal of Alan Roberts & Company, Solicitors, has specialized in employment law for over 30 years, but the firm also covers other areas of law. Alan is from the Chester area and has a rather unusual background as a solicitor.

He attended a local secondary modern school, left without qualifications at the age of 15 years of age to work as a Junior Operative at Shotton Steelworks, where his father was employed as a shop steward.

Alan returned to full time education at the age of 22 years and gained six O levels and 3 A levels before obtaining an LLB law degree at Newcastle University in 1973.

For the next few years Alan taught law at various colleges including Flintshire Technical College and Chester College. He completed his articles to qualify as a solicitor in Ellesmere Port in 1977 then had offices in Birkenhead and Deeside. At the same time Alan completed a masters degree in law at Leicester University in 1983.

In 1986 Alan emigrated to Australia where he worked as a barrister and solicitor for several years before returning to England in 1992. Since that time Alan has worked in his own practice in the Chester area and has acquired a formidable reputation in the field of employment law.

Colin graduated with Honours from Liverpool University in 1968 after spending time studying Comparative law in Strasbourg. He then studied the Legal Practice Course in Liverpool before completing his articles and qualifying as a Solicitor in 1971.

Colin specializes in Personal Injury, Family and Civil Litigation and has developed a formidable reputation in his field.

In his free time Colin enjoys: motor-racing, sailing and walking.

Lucas graduated with Honours in 2010 before undertaking the Legal Practice Course and The College of Law in Chester.Lucas started his Training Contract with Alan Roberts & Co in September 2011, discounting his previous legal experience.

Lucas specialises in all areas of employment law, acting for both employees and employers including: unfair dismissal, redundancy, constructive dismissal, discrimination and transfers of undertakings.

In addition to employment law, Lucas also deals with business and company law and civil litigation.

Prior to university Lucas travelled extensively and enjoys playing squash and reading and is actively developing his language skills in Russian and Polish.

Christine was privately educated at an all girl’s school in Altrincham, Cheshire and works as an administrative assistant within the legal department of Alan Roberts & Co.

Christine has travelled extensively and lived for many years within the United States of America.

Her interests include: fitness and nutrition, travelling and is an avid animal lover.
